WristScan

Great theme....

My goal in life has always been to not only purchase things that I am more than happy to put to practical use on a regular basis, but those things that have an air of genuine timelessness to them. Things, watches obviously included, which I feel would make me joyous in observing and wearing them at present, in the past, or at any point in the future.

This is easily and clearly reflected in my choice of timepieces, both ones that I had previously owned, as well as watches I currently have, and those I intend to purchase foreseeably. Case in point, the AMVOXII Le Mans edition is not only my favorite AMVOXII edition aesthetically speaking, it deliberately emphasizes Aston Martin's victories at Le Mans by visually book-ending the years 1959-2009 on the carbon-fiber minute counter sub-dial. To me, there is even an added subjective relevance when I see any given year from the later 50s given that my mother was born in 1956. Therefore, this watch hits many psychological and emotional points for me - an all-time great timepiece.

The two watches I most desire going forward are the VC 1921 - another all-time masterpiece that speaks to countless objective and subjective matters of substance: my eternal love for physics and philosophy (Einstein won the Nobel prize in 1921), many other groundbreaking discoveries were made during the 20s, and even much more detrimental events like the Great Depression which began in the late 20s. We were forced to live through a similar sequence of years in recent times, and that has had a hugely affecting effect on my life overall. Then the venerable Speedmaster, especially the meteorite dialed one-off versions, which I don't have to even begin to convey the breadth of timescales they represent. Anyway, here's my wristshot for this edition of WristScan........ Cheers, Filip
