Good to be in practice.
At my local range, I always seem to end up next to the guy shooting an AR15, and occasionally an AR10... it is extremely unnerving. I understand if you need to check function or ammo cycling, but most of these guys are popped up on a bag in a seated position. And this is an indoor range is 25 yards. Then they pull the target in and the holes are all over the place. From 25 yards. LOSER!
Nonetheless, I make myself hang in there knowing if I ever have to draw in public, it will likely involve an AR on the other side. But I really do not enjoy it.
Minor finger surgery this week

Thanks Bill. All things considered, it was a straight forward surgery, with a great result expected.
So many health issues are more serious. But I count my blessings and thank God for a successful procedure and expected outcome. Appreciate your support my Friend!
I'm starting to have occasional triggering of the 4th finger on my left hand at night. After being up for a while it goes away. But its the arthritis between my thumb's metacarpal and my wrist
that's really starting to compromise ability to ride my bikes and motorcycle that really sucks. We're just like watches or cars, eventually parts start to wear out. Hope your finger is back to normal soon!
Keep an eye on it and don't wait as long as I did if you need a procedure
They can offer a cortisone shot, and for some people it calms the issue and surgery is not needed. Mine has been problematic too long, so we went straight for the more predictable solution.
That's solid advice on trigger finger. My 1st CMC arthritis is a different matter. Finally there's a good surgical procedure for it that is like a mini hip replacement but not many
hand surgeons are doing it yet. And recovery is a long process with lots of PT needed. The old surgical fix is good for pain reduction but you lose strength and some function. After 45 years of riding sport bikes I suppose I could give that up but I'm not...
Thanks, Marc. I will miss the upper body exercise for a while, but can still work the lower and cardio.
That mental release from exercise is something we depend on when we are in a routine. I'll keep it going as best as possible!

Reading the bible has really changed me. I can't read and believe and not put into practice the countless lessons. Growing up Italian in Boston... well let's just say it is a major discipline to give up swearing, and a continued work-in-progress!

But man is the finger stiff. It will be some time to regain the full mobility, but I am very confident it will return to normal.
