. . . is the tip diameter of the shafts - all three are 13 mm.  That may have been standard back then - I truly don't know - but lately I've been working out with a cue originally specified for breaking that has a 13+ mm tip  laminated Dufferin maple shaft that's turning out to be a natural player.  Most modern playing shafts, especially carbon fiber, are under 13 mm; maybe George was right all along.
