I’d argue the sneakers are far more of an attractive trophy. I don’t recall how many changes of shoes MJ may have had in games but even still these shoes were on his feet in video, photos etc in front of hundreds of millions of people in historical games....

The sneakers were not even $300. Reissues of these (at least the 11s and 12s) go around $220. So back then, they were probably in 100s. MJ must find this all comical to some degree.
at list they became way too expensive, or at least most of them. That aside secondhand and looking BEYOND the hyped pieces there can be found real bargains nowadays
