As for Vienna, I can understand it partially. We have tried several cities and countries (UK, Switzerland, Germany, etc.) and found Vienna to be the best overall package so far - but maybe the arrival of kids also changed our perspective somewhat... Hopin...
I cannot imagine going to live back in my home town either. 18 years like you, then left, then attempted a short stint again and left for good. I donβt mind visiting but living, no.
