Vegas does something similar with many of their restaurants especially if it's on a Friday or Saturday reservation (exception are made of course for guests on their rewards program). Operating a restaurant is one of the highest failures in small business so it makes sense to do this type of system. As for people complaining, it will happen. If you don't like the policy then don't go there.
The presentation of the dessert looks great. Will be interesting if they really do change the menu that often. When you going back?

Apple cider is popular here (there's a great place outside of San Diego that has a apple festival!) but I haven't seen pear perry. Now I'm going to have to try and find some perry! Thanks for the suggestion Andy. -MW

I know some big makes like Magners also don't use the word perry but do use pear on the label. Then like you say people will immediately know what it is which is a good thing as it spreads the word about. Just don't call it a pear cider at a festival...LO...

It's definately worth a visit
Hard work changing menus completely every month, so let's see how they go, but the staff were very enthusiastic and there was a very positive buzz. Let us know your reactions if you visit the restaurant. Regards Andrew
