Great idea doing this.....
Restaurants must have a big issue with bookings just not turning up so good for them to do this.
May I comment on the 'Pear Cider' which does annoy me as cider is made from apples and perry is made from pears. I remember a few years ago at a local beer and cider festival somebody asked "what pear ciders do you have..?" and they got a very blunt reply "we don't have any pear cider but we do have ciders and perry's so which would you like to try..?"
In fact next week is my first festival of the year so about 80 cider and perry's to try 
Unfortunately I have to be selective but you can buy third pints so you can try more different styles. There will also be about 200 beers but I stick to cider and perry.!!

Apple cider is popular here (there's a great place outside of San Diego that has a apple festival!) but I haven't seen pear perry. Now I'm going to have to try and find some perry! Thanks for the suggestion Andy. -MW

Could also be a marketing idea....
I know some big makes like Magners also don't use the word perry but do use pear on the label. Then like you say people will immediately know what it is which is a good thing as it spreads the word about. Just don't call it a pear cider at a festival...LO...

It's definately worth a visit
Hard work changing menus completely every month, so let's see how they go, but the staff were very enthusiastic and there was a very positive buzz. Let us know your reactions if you visit the restaurant. Regards Andrew
