Off the Road, Again
After a couple of weeks layover, I decided this morning would be a fine time to get out of the house and onto a dirt path somewhere.
However, I was not in this Range Rover, it's just a photo-worthy vehicle I passed on my way down to the park. Seems its owner has fitted it with a bit more kit than the factory did ...
Anyway, I started my walk on a path across the river/canal from the airport, so it was at sea level and quite peaceful yet noisy when the jets were passing (just) overhead.

My neck got plenty of exercise as I was looking up and down and all around. Painfully bright lantanas here, even with overcast skies.

A nice architectural feature poked up above the palms - that's St. Charles Borromeo church. I remembered my walk "targets" - flowers, birds, bees, buildings, babes, etc.
When I said babes, I didn't mean it literally, but I was seeing babes in droves, as the stroller brigade passed by

I don't know what this is all about, but his badge says Space Alien (or something). Maybe he's one of those aliens the government has been hiding from us?

The brightest flower I saw all day:

Close second!
There are lots of wacky plants in this corner of the park.

For example, here are a nice couple of birds on top of a "bush"

Let me zoom out and show you the height of this plant! Right up there at sea gull altitude.
See? Gull.
Then I spotted another mother, yelling at her kids
"stop horsing around"

"Don't roll in the dirt!"

"Leave the nice man alone!"

It seemed time for me to say something, so I offered, "Wanna see my Seiko? It's a Sportura Kinetic Chrono, 9T82 movement recently back from Japan"

"Titanium case and bracelet, deployant with push button release, and I have a titanium ring to match"

Showing no fear whatsoever,
It actually climbed on my shoe and grabbed my leg, making me laugh and blow the shot.

I joined with the mother, yelling at his brother, "Hey, leave that corn dog alone!"

He was right near the coals can which might have been hot...

Striking out across the grassy field, I thought I was free of the little rascals,

but that was not the case.

Again, showing no fear, this one let me walk up within about 6 feet.

While the bird watched with some signs of disapproval, I decided to leave before they called Squirrel Protective Services on me.

I gave the rabbit a bit of attention and promised she would be in the walk report.

Got distracted by some flowers,
and a plane headed to Hawaii (don't forget to pull the wheels up, Captain)

As I got near the channel again, I saw an aggressive guy in a "rowboat" zipping across the water

Two ducks watched skeptically, quacking to each other (why don't those people leave the water to us?)...

I decided at this point to call it a morning and run on home for breakfast.
Thanks for joining on this walk,
Cazalea
