They (not just them) and some ADs are capitalizing on the fact that collectors love “limited” and “sought after” pieces, and these pieces have gone up in value so “specollectors” love them )
They don’t need to spend resources hiring watch makers and start their own production, other brands already do that so all they (both brands and H) just need to join forces and make a “special” release and viola! Sold out!
Next step, auctioneers help to promote how special these are, using words like extremely limited and highly sought after, bam! Record prices.....
