To my surprise, when I was admiring my newly acquired SBGW231 this morning with my Loupe system, I found few water drops/ marks “trapped” in the edge of the sapphire crystal... I brought the piece to AD and they said it has to go back to factory for repai...  

Its like hou said not a thing you expect from this brand . Hope you will get it back asap and in perfect shape 🙏🏻

I can attest to a pervading atmosphere of customer care and striving for perfection in an imperfect world in Japan, even in the 21st century. I was not there at the factory when your watch was born but knowing the Grand Seiko people, I'm sure QC was adequ...

Has perfect QC, not to make an excuse for GS, but a buddy of mine has his brand new PP 5960 chronograph button stuck the first time he pressed it.

Not really a QC issue. Moisture got into the case somehow. Perhaps the gasket used was defective. Hopefully, the case does not have a compromise somewhere.. Good to get it fixed ASAP as moisture will corrode the movement .

My SBGW253 has water marks on the hour and minute hands. I surmised based on the GS video I have watched, those sorts of water marks are bound to happen during the hand assembly which the watchmakers picks up the hour and minute hands from some wet line. ...
