At a time when Offshores and Panerais were in their prime. I assume that Rolex launched the Deepsea to get a slice of the larger watch business, but I love that they didn't just build a bigger submariner (with 300m of water resistance) and call it a day. ...
The original Submariner was even smaller: The 6200/ 6204/ 6536-38 and so on were 37 mm. The 5512-13 was 40 mm.

Technologically these are special watches.
But they arenāt for me simply bc my wrist doesnāt have enough real estate. I do like the graduated blue dial on the original version.
