Well, the first Milgauss probably was the 6543, issued in 1954.

The difference? The straight second hand, while the 6541 had a lightning second hand.

Here is a 6543. Credit picture: Squarespace.

A superb 6541 I saw in Paris:

Patrice's 1019 in Italy:

A black 1019 seen in Paris:

Our friend Tyler's 1019:

And mine, the 116400GV.

As you can guess, I am a huge fan of the Milgauss!

Best,

Nicolas

Dear friends The Rolex Milgauss was designed to meet the demands of the scientific community and is capable of withstanding magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss. The reliability and precision of an ordinary mechanical watch can be affected by a magnetic f...

Regards D

I have a feeling we will be seeing a new Milgauss this year at Basel

 By: descartes1 : February 5th, 2019-11:41
Rolex is running Milgauss content almost exclusively on their social media which is what they do when they plan to introduce a new model.

I think you could be right. [nt]

 By: Cpt Scarlet : February 5th, 2019-11:48

What I would really love to see is a NON-Daytona chronograph, along the lines of a modern version of the 6238

 By: descartes1 : February 5th, 2019-12:25
That is, a chronograph in a case like the Air King (ie not a Cellini), with a smooth bezel and tachymeter scale on the dial (no bezel). Make it water proof and anti-magnetic. I’d prefer steel but they could also do such a watch in precious metal. Now THAT...

I'd like that [nt]

 By: Tyo : February 5th, 2019-13:46

Hopefully it will happen [nt]

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : February 5th, 2019-14:27

Killer duo!

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : February 5th, 2019-14:27
Still got em?

Not anymore

 By: Mark : February 5th, 2019-19:51
Swapped the silver one for a 5711 and auctioned off the black one. I love the design, but didn’t want to wear them with the very real scarcity of spare parts.

Thanks for posting. A cousin of mine has a millgaus.

 By: geross : February 5th, 2019-12:48
After your post, I think I'll buy one too in the near future. Geross 😉

Definitely good decision ;) [nt]

Old school greatness Cheers D

May I join my dear D?? I´m specially fond of the vintage Milgauss. Early models like those shown by you and Nicolas are regrettably out of reach nowadays...

 By: Subexplorer : February 6th, 2019-12:38
... as prices of vintage Rolex tool models have escalated to the sky in the last years. The ref 1019 is one of my grails which have been eluding me for years. Soon its prices will be in the sky as well. A great option is the modern interpretation of this ...

Great photos of Rasta...that last strap combo is very nice
