A 1675 with " Concorde hands ":
A 1675 Underline from 1962, Double Swiss:
And a 6542 from 1959:
If the Concorde and the 6542 came at a reasonable price, the Double Swiss Underline ended quite high, at circa 50 K Euros.
Funny how the results differs from our persona perception For me, the 6542 should always appreciate more than any 1675, because of the lack of crownguards, its bakelite bezel and the fact that it is the first GMT MASTER from Rolex.
Of course, I mean a 6542 all correct, in good condition.
Some will say that the Double Swiss mention is super rare. Still...

I inspected both watches and had both in my hand. The market was very rational here. The double swiss was a 9.5/10 watch the 6542 maybe a 7/10 maybe a 6.5/10. Wrong hands, wrong second hand and a bakelite that was cracked in multiple places.

We agree. In top condition, a double swiss underline will do a massacre.
But much less than a 6542 in equally top condition. There is / should be a hierarchy in the vintage Rolex references, I think. Best, Nicolas
Yes the perfect gilt 6542 will trample the 1675 double swiss.
They are really in two classes so I don't think they should compete. The gilt era classes / grouping No crown guard as one class (6542/1675) Pointy crown guard as another Rounded crown guard as a third.
