This is a tough one....

But I will try my $2.00 analysis on it.
There is at least two ways to look at this.
First Side
"Everyone" wants a Rolex, and it is so cliché to have one. Many get it just for recognition from the average person who doesn't know watches, generally speaking. Why have something that is so mainstream?
Also, muggers, gold diggers, and all sorts of so-called ...., will have you as their target. Bad I guess? But I am not judging.
The reasons and lists goes on...
Second Side
Generally speaking, you don't care, well at least that much, what other people think. You wear, on your wrist, what the heck you want.
You like the design of Rolex, you like that it is known for being durable, and is durable. Yes, yes, yes, you know there are many brands out there. Heck, you sampled a few, and have a few "other" brands, micro, or what have you.
After all that knowledge of other brands, and peoples' different perspective and vantage points of all parts "horology," you can't get Rolex off your wrist.
Conclusion
Is there one? I say no.
It is your wrist and you have your "own" reasons to wear something, and to not.
I think it is good to consider others' opinions, and thoughts, but, you, and only you make the final decision. But I think you already knew that.
People say, "he didn't care what people thought, and just did what he wanted." I find this statement misguided at best. Unless we live on an island by ourselves, we will always have to work with others and associate and converse with others.
Not caring about others' thoughts, in a modern world, is damn near impossible. I think we need at least one person to like us.
