The Modern Daytona Era - 116520 to 126500LN: What Actually Changed?

Been thinking about how differently collectors talk about the steel Daytona depending on which generation they came up in.

The 116520 introduced the Calibre 4130 in 2000  - column-wheel, vertical clutch, entirely in-house. That was the real turning point. The aluminium bezel era gets overlooked now but that reference deserves more credit than it gets.

The 116500LN in 2016 was the obvious watershed -  Cerachrom bezel, same movement, two dial options that both sold out immediately and stayed that way. It's now discontinued and demand hasn't softened at all.

The 126500LN brings the Calibre 4131, slimmer crown guards, polished lug chamfers and new dial options including opaline and meteorite. Subtle but meaningful refinements.

Curious where this community lands...

Do you prefer the 116500LN now that it's a closed chapter, or does the 126500LN's movement upgrade justify the current premium on the secondary market?

Also, MOP dial Rolesor. Underrated or properly appreciated?
