the dial feet don't lie

 

Hello Nicolas, 


You're  right, I  refer  to this specific  dial/hands combo to establish the paternity link between the Black-Bay and this 94010  Submariner.

When you examine the different feet  location on the two dials (7016 on the left) as seen in the picture below,  if makes very unlikely, if not impossible, that some local watchmakers throughout the  world did modify some 7016 dials to fit them in 94010 submariners, all of them featuring the same serial number range…

Not to mention that it is a risky process, because you have to cut off and  weld the  feet  at the right location without damaging the dial paint...

 Difficult and not worth it imho, all the more since  the 7016 dial was no longer in production  and that the 94010 round dial  (featuring specific triangular 3, 6, 9 markers) was available and not difficult to source. 

At last, this kind of modification (cutting off and welding the feet) would have left  some heavy and noticeable marks on the back of the dial, nothing compared with an untouched original factory dial like the two bellow (and mine).
