Rolex

Sort of ....

To me, the biggest difference is the visual one due to the raised middle section of the end link. With regard to tangible changes, I think there is a slight difference when you hold the watch as the solid end link is incrementally more secure against the case compared to its stamped counterpart (and I’m just talking about feel rather than actual security, which is of course the same because the spring bars are unchanged). Similarly, there is also a little less hollow rattle from the stamped end link against the case (though you’ll inherently get some rattle from the bracelet itself compared the to the current style bracelet that was introduced in the 116520). Aside from that subtlety, they wear the same. But then again, Rolex collecting is all about small differences in what is otherwise the world’s most recognizable luxury watch, right?

I personally prefer the solid link, but I don’t think it’s worth a big premium. I’d rather have a porcelain dial.

Thanks,
Brian
