My latest acquisition. Explorer II.
V series (2009), this is one of the last batch of ref 16570 before discontinued in 2010 and replaced by the new, 42mm "maxi case".
It is considered quite rare, having new caliber 3186 with parachrom hairspring. The endlinks also solid, makes the watch feels a bit heavy and less rattly.
I had to sold my explorer (1) to fund this. Couldn't be happier. Now i have 2 rolexes...Datejust for dressy style and Explorer II for sporty style. One is blue and one is white.

The Explorer ii is “the” sports Rolex. The 40mm case size is right up my alley, can’t fit the new maxi case on my mini wrist. With your new datejust this might be a 2 watch collection to cover nearly all the bases.

Fact it it doesn’t get much wrist time unfortunately because I want to keep it perfect. 👍
I understand your concern. But a watch is meant ti be worn, to bring us smile every time we glance at our wrist
I would suggest you wear it more often and just enjoy it . Every 10 years you could have it serviced and re-finish the case.
