Just a Date.
I did not wear it for years and this watch was my first "fine" watch. When my nephew earned his bachelors from my old university and same faculty where I made my two masters, I decided to give the watch to him - well serviced. However, I told him that he can't sell the watch before I'm fertilizing the grass.

I was very lucky...my first ever Rolex was bought by a good friend. It was also his "first ever" Rolex. We were discussing this and he came around to an idea....I would buy back half the watch...and we would share the Rolex...1yr for him and the next year...

.....the best sort! Actually, i should have prefaced my personal bet....i suspect that GMT is the most typical first ever Rolex, followed by Datejust. That would be my guess....

The date on the chronometer certificate is May 9, 1963 and the sale date is December 22, 1964. I will check whether there is a separate date on the warranty papers but they are in the bank.

The guarantee was issued at sale. I think two three or four years difference on the sale date and the printed date is perfectly normal. best Bill
