Yes the lugs are a tad long on the Marine even if the case were 39mm. So it does wear larger. On a steel bracelet it looks very big but with a dark colored rubber strap (blue or black) it "breaks" the extension of the lugs into the case and hence makes the watch look and wear smaller in a sense. My wrists are 6.2 inch about the same as yours
If not these 2 models, then a Rolex GMT Master 2 or Explorer 1 will be my choice too

The Rolex YM is no doubt a more robust watch
