Anyone can share their experience about Yacht Master 40mm
Looking for a day-to-day watch that will allow me to dress up or down. Choosing between this and the Breguet Marine 5817. Appreciate any input or sharing of experience. Cheers!!
Rolex is a very cool watch but the 5817 is a more unique play
A couple of shots to help confuse you.
Good to swim with and good to go to work or dressy events.
You really need to try it one your wrist then you can decide.

The Rolex YM is no doubt a more robust watch
And it's also versatile for sports and work.
But the Breguet Marine is more charming and special imho.
There are other Rolexes I personally will choose over the YM.
The Breguet Marine with navy blue strap is a watch I love a lot in my collection

If you like some hues of blue on your watch and a more classical dial (the Marine's dial is crafted from solid gold, engine turned guilloche and silvered), I will recommend the Breguet Marine

Do u think the lugs may be too extended
for someone with a very small wrist (6 inches)? I do appreciate the pics and the input. I did not know that the Marine's dial is crafted from solid gold!! Also, would you share, given the selection criteria this time, which watch you will recommend not limiting to the YM or Marine? Feel free to email me if you feel that this is not the appropriate venue.
On a different topic, I was back in Sin for three days in March so perhaps when I'm back for a longer stay the next time, I can catch up with the local enthusiasts.

Yes the lugs are a tad long on the Marine even if the case were 39mm. So it does wear larger. On a steel bracelet it looks very big but with a dark colored rubber strap (blue or black) it "breaks" the extension of the lugs into the case and hence makes the watch look and wear smaller in a sense. My wrists are 6.2 inch about the same as yours
If not these 2 models, then a Rolex GMT Master 2 or Explorer 1 will be my choice too
