Hello, and thank you for taking the time to share your story and photographs
I enjoyed reading it and looking at the pictures. I have one other Rolex - similar to one my father owned - and this is my first Datejust. I've spent most of my watch collecting adventure elsewhere but have always liked the conservative look of this watch. The painted Roman numerals make it look even more traditional but - in the context of a Datejust - slightly untypical too. That's a pleasant mix. I'll be happy to post some live photos when I receive it. Until then, thank you again.

I've noticed that Buckley dial Datejusts do not get much attention from general Rolex fans. That seems to be the case across fora. It's been about 12 years since they acquired the nickname and, while this has prompted some interest, it's still a sleeper. ...

I agree with you in terms of these dials being very distinctive, and looking at the Rolex catalogue they do stand out. Do you think that some dials, based on colour and the case they sit in, are maybe too classic in styling for the newer collector and so ...
