Rolex

Good question many times asked MKI good MKII good MKxxx I don't know

If you look at the 5513 Matt series.

There seems to be two maxi dials that are undisputed MKI and MKII.  The difference is that the depth and the submariner test is inverted with depth on top being MKI.  The large lume plots are a given.  These appeared in a narrow range.  he very special distinguishing factor is the the the ft align just like my test here.  The model which there appear to be more of have the FT not aligned.  But who knows this is Rolex.  Why do the large plots vary I don't really know I have not put the non aligned version under a scope to qualify it one way or another,So if you want a very cool and "limited edition" you get the exclusivity club.

Now as for gilt.  Though people say they where around from 1962-1966  which is a long time very few examples survived in perfect condition so if you can get one jump on it.

So my response is both are good catches and both are elusive and worth the chance for the collector.  The market never understands this aspect so for me both are golden.

Best
