1959 was a dynamic year for the Submariner!
1959 started with the last samples of the 6538 which were followed by the rare 5510, essentially a 6538 with 1530 movement.
The year ended with first the square crown guard 5512 and finally the "eagle beak" crown guard 5512, a filed down variety of the square cg, leading to the pointed crown guard from early 1960 onwards.
Each of these four Submariner varieties is incredibly desirable and that lovely brown 6538 even more so!

1959 is a correct period year for 4 line "OCC"... I've seen it in other Submariner references : - 6536/1 4 line, which I believe 1959 is the last batch for the reference 6536/1 - 5512 with eagle beak crown guard, which is strictly from 1959 - and I've see...
