After quit an absence, I liked to express my thoughts on this one,

everybody says that the new Batman has become:

a fractional smaller case
a new calibre
a new dial with the crown printed between Swiss and Made
a Jubilee dial.

All I see is a Pepsi with another bezel in a, from historical point of view, senseless color scheme.

Lot's of storm in a glass of water.
Never the less he looks cool, but a big announcement???

Besides what makes me wonder, Rolex wants to knock-out the grey-market, but instead of start producing those over-list-models a bit more, they occupy production-faccilities with
stuff like the 42mm Yachtmaster and TT Seadwelller.

Oh yes, I forgot, they already did strike the grey-market hard, the AD must now pull of the protective stickers.
Yes, a tough measurement but  that will for sure bring the prices of the 116500LN, 126710BLRO and so on back to list or just above.

Baselworld 2019: 3 New Rolex GMT MASTER Watches

 By: amanico : March 20th, 2019-04:39
Not one nor two, but three " new " GMT MASTER, this year. By new, Rolex means a new movement, the Cal 3285 with 70 hours of power reserve, a Jubilée Bracelet for the Steel " Batman " and White Gold " Blue ", and a new dial for the White Gold on Oyster Bra...

Nice!

Is is just me or they are not super case anymore?

Love the Batman

 By: jmpTT : March 20th, 2019-05:29
Batman is looking good with the new old bracelet. Love Rolex’s approach to movement development too Rolex rarely disappoints, but as an outsider I have no interest in competing for allocations.

I agree with this logic

What I don’t understand is why Rolex no longer offers a regular GMT MASTER II. Maybe I’m blind??? But i don’t see it on the site at all. So if you want a GMT your only option is the jubilee? I don’t like Jubilee on sports watches! Makes no sense in my opi...

I prefer my old Batman

 By: Love watches : March 20th, 2019-05:44
Never a fan of jubilee bracelet...

Same here! [nt]

I think these two releases

 By: keks : March 20th, 2019-05:49
Are great. Nothing revolutionary but an improvement. We can’t have revolutions every year....

Yes esp from these guys...

I am dreaming of a titanium no date sub in a non maxi case...

Yes I tend to dare a lot

Question:

 By: roberto : March 20th, 2019-05:56
Thank you Nicolas. Stupid question- do you know if the blue on the ceramic dial in this new version is the same blue on the previous BLRO? On some photos it looks darker, less vivid but I’m not sure whether that’s just lighting and render. Thank you Rober...

I do hope so! [nt]

 By: amanico : March 20th, 2019-07:11

No. [nt]

Beyond the newer movement...

 By: Lankysudanese : March 20th, 2019-07:09
...nothing in the new black-and-blue watch interests me. Not the bracelet. Not the case. Not the fact that it’s the same dial and bezel. The white gold with the funky dial is interesting and a new foray for Rolex. Where’s the highly anticipated new sub wi...

That meteorite dial kinda reminded me..

 By: Echi : March 22nd, 2019-22:43
Of the aesthetics of the controversial 6542 albino dial. Closest to a white dial GMT you can get I suppose is why the albino 6542 came to mind.

Thankfully underwhelming!

Gives me a chance to catch my breath. Can't even find a basic Sub in the AD so hopefully this year's offering gives Rolex room to improve production and distribution. Thank you.

Something tells me that the current shortage isn’t due to production and distributions issues.

 By: Lankysudanese : March 20th, 2019-07:40
Why would they have no issues producing and distributing precious metal versions of almost every-sports watch on catalogue ??

I have a theory...

 By: pejp : March 20th, 2019-09:45
I think they’re starving the market so they can push the standard sub further into the luxury market segment, and the new watch guy with 5-6k who might have bought a used sub at some point is forced into Tudor. The sub, for many people, is their first ‘lu...

Yep... [nt]

 By: amanico : March 21st, 2019-00:35

Haha true!

 By: ripper444 : March 20th, 2019-08:55
Well the good news is the Batman and Pepsi are still not available so it’s not a big deal as to what they released this time around. Also the 42mm yachtmaster in white gold. Who is the buyer for this piece? I feel the rose gold was nice but 42mm in white ...

Mixed feelings

 By: Mr.Gatsby : March 20th, 2019-08:49
I do not like the Batman on jubilee. I think it is boring. The meteorite dial GMT is not bad. Need to see in the metal. It’s reminiscent of Pan AM, that’s why I like it.

New movement is fine but..

 By: Love watches : March 20th, 2019-08:50
Considering I never wear the same watch more than 3 days, even 40 hours are plenty because it will still run after I wake up. Absolutely nothing to please the loyal Rolex fans. Who will want to wear a white gold Yacht Master to go swimming, unless I have ...

Thanks, Nico!

 By: Ivan5 : March 20th, 2019-10:28
Weirdly, the watch (42 YM) talks to me (on pictures). My two problems: Too big a case for the movement and the choice of the metal. I guess I'll wait for 42 SS version. Hopefully next year...

I do like the GMT Blue/black

 By: Bruno.M1 : March 20th, 2019-10:10
and will have it on my wrist within a few months

well I guess when they deliver the first pieces

 By: Bruno.M1 : March 20th, 2019-11:02
and isn't this somewhere between june and august ?

A big yawn here! [nt]

So I wonder if next year will be the

 By: ripper444 : March 20th, 2019-11:20
GMT Master II on oyster?!!! Rolex reminds me of Apple! They remove/add features and repackage the same stuff and sell it as a new release!!! What really Interests me is if the waiting lists will become even worse those year! We shall see.

Not very creative.

 By: MTR : March 20th, 2019-11:29
Just boring.... But I am sure there will be long waiting lists again. So for Rolex there is no need to change anything. The perfect formula to print money has been found. Best, Thomas

Maybe...

 By: MTR : March 20th, 2019-12:17
I would have wished for more. That‘s really a pity. On the other side. Pulling the trigger for the Blancpain grande date will be much easier now. 😎 Best, Thomas

That would have been cool!

 By: MTR : March 20th, 2019-12:25
Or a new Explorer?

Why not, indeed! [nt]

 By: amanico : March 20th, 2019-12:25

Could we configure the new Batman with a oyster bracelét?

 By: Watch_kha_wen : March 20th, 2019-12:32
And will it be « available » on non grey market without having to wait for 10 years? Kev

yeah i could

 By: Watch_kha_wen : March 20th, 2019-15:47
but they are way overpriced ... I'd rather get gold though But my prefered one remains the root beer but I don't expect to see one one day though... Kev

Sorry, mistaken post 🙏

...

I’m disgusted...

 By: kennygfunk : March 20th, 2019-13:27
not with the new selection, but with the fact that Rolex has the audacity to reveal new models, even though they haven’t kept up with production of what they promised us before this. Also, how is it that the grey market has more new models than Authorized...

Well, good news for those of you who own the current...

 By: YpJ : March 20th, 2019-17:32
Ceramic Daytonas, new Pepsi and pretty much any other in-demand Rolex Professional model because they may be worth even more after this year's release. It's obviously Rolex's prerogative to introduce TT versions of their models but the bottomline is that ...

Same here. Agreed. [nt]
