Richard Mille

Well, I never had problems with mine

but I tried to be very careful. I don't think it can be scratched, like steel or PVD/DLC (unless it takes a more significant hit).

However, it can indeed mark, living a kind of grey line and I don't know if it is easy to correct. Back then, I was told that you could make the piece recoated (maybe they don't wish to do that anymore) or have a part replaced (usually the bezel).

If you really wish to use it for sport or without having to pay attention, it is indeed a cost you have to take into account. For such a sport watch, it is also showing how you use it, like scratches on a toolwatch (Submariners etc...). It can look normal as well.

If you like your watches remaining "as new" and you don't want to have marks on this watch then it is may be not the best material and I would go for NTPT, Ceramic or Carbon nanotube. Usually those cases are bigger but there are a few limited editions in the past that were made in the smaller size I think.

Like this one:  www.watchprosite.com

and maybe the one made in limited edition for America (it had a yellow crown).

This is a great reference to consider.

Best, Mark
