RM brand
To me it's a brand that came at a right time and perfect marketing. RM started with making nothing themselves, even the famous case was outsourced, they just do design. Now that they make the case in house, but the movement still outsourced.
It is such a bad thing? Personally it's fine with me, many of the so called in house movements, the parts are also outsourced. Apple and Nike makes nothing themselves, it's all outsourced, but they both are tremendously successful.
The only problem I have with RM is the price. RM makes only around 4000 watches a year, but they have many boutiques and a variety of marketing/endorsements, which meant they have high overhead, margins have to be sky high.
However, with all this said, I think RM's case is spectacular, and it will be a classic like Mark said.
I would certainly buy one one day, just not from the boutiques, I will let someone pay all those overhead for me first.
