Richard Mille

The issue is not that the odd photo will get published...

And yes, at authorised dealers, you will get to see the watches and take photos. But you are missing the issue here. At the back of the RM booth, Richard has always graciously provided professional lightroom and photographic facilities for the very purpose of providing the best images of his new watches. High intensity lights, light tents, and cleaning materials. Everything you need and more than any other watch firm at SIHH.

The problem is that some use that to photograph, using very high density imaging, the watch from every conceivable angle to that all dimensions can be measured exactly by CAD programmers. One or two shots using your Samsung or Apple phone is hardly in the same league.

However, to stop one person complaining because of preferential treatment to others, ALL photos were stopped. And if your AD has the watches and you are invited to see them, you will take the odd photo, but if will not be of sufficient detail to allow a very close replica to be made.

Not silly - very smart. For the reasons I stated.
