Early pieces are fun indeed.
Mar 12, 2018,07:43 AM
Today RM's have a 5 year warranty. RM service in the US takes just a few weeks. Times have changed...
Patek doesn't make sport watches and it's all I wear. If I wanted a dress watch I'd buy another Patek...they don't change much.
All comes down to lifestyle. For me I could careless what others are wearing...I buy watches for my enjoyment not others.

A sentence posted on the Richard Mille IG account
By: foversta : March 11th, 2018-15:00
I would like to highlight a sentence posted on Instagram further to the release of the McLaren piece: "We make watches you can wear for any occasion, just as McLaren creates cars that can be driven on a daily basis. We don't do watches to put in a safe wa...
Even though....
By: InHavenPro : March 11th, 2018-15:11
it always comes down to the individual's personality I think there is more validity to their statement than not. Myself, being a dedicated user of anything I purchase, would be more inclined to get a RM than a PP save for my all-time favorite PP Nautilus....
Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about that.
By: Bounce781 : March 11th, 2018-15:13
Sounds too “up it’s own $&$”. (Maybe just an over-reaction from me, but I find this particular “dig” at another brand a cowardly trick). If RM have something to say about another brand & its customers - just grow some ⚽️ 🎾’s and Call it out by name. Other...
Stupid sentences

Of someone who has no idea. A watch novelist. Richard, don't burn the money.
Yawn....
By: Poky : March 11th, 2018-17:13
Lack of imagination; RM can't come up with its own slogan so it puts down another brand. RM makes great watches so I am not sure why it has to have a dig at another brand- perhaps something to do with the fact that its pre-owned watches don't hold as much...

Unfortunately in this case your wrong as RM is actually gaining more value
By: Mohannad (aka Riddler) : March 11th, 2018-23:03
I sold my RM10 which I owned for 5 Years for 70% profit RM prices are holding very strong and increasing in value That’s due to the fact that Richard increased the retail price by 40% and reduced the number of ADs while increasing number of boutiques
Interesting
By: Poky : March 12th, 2018-15:16
I had a Breitling Superocean many years ago. After 6 years ownership, I sold it for double the original price i.e. 100% profit.
Live and let die 😁

RM is currently the new grail for those who wants to show off mostly. Instagram is the mirror of this behavior, and the lucky and wealthy customers do wear their watches. Only few collectors are really interested in the technical features, but this is not...
I'm mixed and conflicted...
By: patrick_y : March 12th, 2018-01:04
There are a lot of Patek Philippe users who are using their watches every day. There are a lot of Patek Philippe users who enjoy it for themselves and not for their posterity. I currently don't have any children (at least none that I'm aware of). If I had...
People should read carefully before reacting
By: MTF : March 12th, 2018-01:24
FrX That statement should be read carefully without assumption. InstaGram gives no scope for elaborate discussion. The sentence is simply a Mission Statement. By their design technique and aesthetic; Richard Miller watches are for enjoying now and for "ac...
MTF...i think you are being naive.....
By: Baron - Mr Red : March 12th, 2018-01:32
The statement is a very clear dig at the expense of Patek Philippe. You seem to be suggesting that you have much deeper insight than the rest of us. Yes, you highlight one aspect of their mission statement. BUT, they still make that mission statement at t...

Damjan, You are correct and observed well with a scientist's eye. That rule applies unless grappa or lack of sleep are involved. Then, all inhibitory centres and bets are off... for some people Warm regards, MTF
Sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar...
By: Marcus Hanke : March 12th, 2018-02:56
As an owner of neither RM nor PP, I would not have read this sentence to be meaned at the ecpense pf PP. If I recall correctly, the meaning of PP's long-standing advertising motto is to wear a PP until you hand it over to the next generation. This does no...
A wise adage from an old PuristS
By: MTF : March 12th, 2018-04:47
Herr Dr Professor Hanke, I always look to you for calm and PuristS embracing values. "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." I like that. It expresses my feeling better than I could or did. Regards, MTF

By: Passionata_george : March 12th, 2018-05:18
i doubt that anybody care or should care with such comments , I ve always considered RM as an interesting horological adventure but I would t even think to acquire one for a simple reason that if one time they quit from the business nobody will be able to...
How many replying own an RM?
By: texex91 : March 12th, 2018-06:06
Crickets. Maybe 1 or 2. It's always the non-owners that get so nasty to the brand. RM made a statement that is true--who cares. It's one of the aspects of the brand I love. Less stuffy and more fun. It's a watch--not the end of the world. Other brands (PP...

Big fan today of RM but primarily of the original classic models like the RM002, RM004, the RM009, and the RM012 which focused primarily on innovative movements and set the foundation for their designs in the future. Having both the RM005 and RM010 early ...

I guess Mr Mille needs to be poisonous...
By: ChristianDK : March 12th, 2018-11:07
Apparently he needs it. however I get from some owners that his watches are not so reliable when it comes to actual use. The advice I was given from former owners + one renowned AHCI member was to avoid the brand.
Reading this sentence calmly
By: MTR : March 12th, 2018-13:08
it IMO doesn’t refer to PP necessarily. Nevertheless „pride goes before a fall“ somehow springs to my mind. Best, Thomas
I would say: well done Richard Mille...
By: foversta : March 12th, 2018-13:40
Of course he knew that this type of comment would provoke a lot of reactions. But it is well done once again. Why? Because in the end, we are comparing, even with a mirror effect, Richard Mille (the brand) with the most prestigious brand of the high end s...

At least this post made us react
By: dms : March 12th, 2018-14:55
I didn’t know where to post, either in the Richard Mille or the Patek forum. Being the lucky owner of both a 5712 and a (still today) RM010, I think I’m entitled to post on both sides ;-) To me I don’t see anything more than a marketing “coup” in this RM ...

By: grahamhar : March 13th, 2018-15:48
We should share more shots of of our daily RM, is it that there are less RM around due to their ‘youth’? I do feel the number of RM owners seem reluctant to show their watches on this forum compared to the other brands. Should we start a weekly thread to ...
I broke an aquanaut playing tennis
By: Blesk : March 14th, 2018-03:38
Was told not to wear any Patek with vigorous activity. So I bought an RM and it definitely is the toughest watch I’ve ever had. I have other Pateks and love them and the elegance of the brand, but it’s true they are just for the office and mild activity. ...
Broke = Internal movement failure
By: Blesk : March 15th, 2018-22:44
The balance wheel could not resist the shock. 99% of mechanical watches will eventually break if subject to G forces from activities like tennis or golf. That’s why the RM suspended movement is a genuine breakthrough. It allows the movement to float insid...

Who follows RM on IG?
By: eklektik : March 18th, 2018-06:42
I guess the followers are RM fans or interested parties. So what is the aim of mocking another brand? To give reassurance to their existing customers that they own the right brand? RM is a unique make doing very special products, they should stick to that...
