My first visit to Kyoto and Nara was in the mid 1980s, it has gotten more crowded but it's still a wonderful destination, the classic sites and the slightly off map locations. I enjoy the experience of a good ryokan or Japanese style inn that are found throughout the country... time and space melt away... a hot soak and some sake... why not ; ) Casey
