was built in the 7th century and is one of the few remaining pilgrimage sites in Japan.
The main Buddhist image, a hidden Buddha statue, is rumored to be the first Buddha statue to ever be brought to Japan. A replica of the statue is shown publicly once every six years, the next scheduled display will take place in the spring of 2021.

Thank you for looking,

I have used that tree for framing also on previous visits to Zenkō-ji... which reminds me of a theme I have been wanting to talk about... "classic framing / cropping techniques and why we use them"... the tree branch over for example...

. Cheers, Filip
and you will get list upon list... typically something like the following...
№ 01 Rule of Thirds
№ 02 Centered Composition and Symmetry
№ 03 Foreground Interest and Depth
№ 04 Frame Within the Frame
№ 05 Leading Lines
№ 06 Diagonals and Triangles
№ 07 Patterns and Textures
№ 08 Rule of Odds
I tend to favor № 05 Leading Lines. In fact these lists are commonly headed by text such as 'how to improve your photographs'. Consciously or unconsciously it's hard not to think in terms of these 'rules' when looking through the finder. My take is that it has something to with the language of imagery, the graphic clues we incorporate into our photographs to connect with the viewer's perception of beauty... I could be wrong.

The heart of our cuisine is "kirei-sabi". In modern words (translation by Kikunoi), it means "be beautiful and not be seedy. Be tasteful and powerful, not be fragile".
Life is beautiful, but the experience is dear... ; )
I hope you enjoyed...
