Is the Nautilus the new Submariner?
Would like to get your point of view.
At my holiday destination, the submariner used to be the watch of choice - not a surprise as probably everyone would agree that it is close to ideal for vacation purposes.
This year though, I noticed a change as the Nautilus almost outnumbered the sub with already six I have seen - 3 blue 5712, a whitegilf one and two date/moon.
Is this just coincidence or a trend that finally reached my attention?
I used to own a green sub LV, but spld it partially as I thought it was to often I see other folks with it. I love my blue 5712, so would hate to get the same feeling about this beauty.
Any thoughts, agreements or even better hope?
Thanks for reading.

So at least the question did spark a bit of discussion. Good thing is, that I brought neither my Nauti nor any Rolex... As this was sort of implied in my original post by many - I never bought a watch because of the people that own it or do not own it. No...

and what Baron was expanding on. Sure I guess an argument could be made that the popularity of the Nautilus makes it analogous to the popularity of the Sub. On watch forums and IG, you definitely will see a plethora of Nautilus just like a lot of posts ab...

but for me the question is : is the current $ 50 000 the old $ 5000 ? Some years ago on vacation one could see a few luxury watches at all, today a Demasko is not enough you simply need a Nautilus? Rolex has became to common for a 'true" connoisseur in my...

In Bangkok, the hi-so (high society or rich kids) all wear the Nautilus as a sort of membership badge so you can walk into any rooftop bar in the Thong Lo district and see at least half a dozen PP Nautilus (sometimes at the same table!) on any night of th...

but it doesn't matter. I have a Sub C bought 7 years ago, I like the watch maybe of my best 3 keepers. The watch is beautiful reliable. Ok there is a bunch of them out there but I don't care. The Nautilus, I like it too. 6 months ago I was having a lunch ...
