I do not like the calatrava in steel just as the calatrava travel time because they so not have nothing in common with Patek philosophy but it is off course my humble opinion. However I get your point and I understand your frustration! Best.

Many, but i'm aware today the brand is more powerful than any other technical feature. Recently PP commanded their ADs not to sell sealed watches (it's an old recommendation) but i can bet 2 cents that there will be several on the gray market, with insane... 

the simple 3 hand patek pilot is more expensive than the FP Journe Chronometre Bleu in Tantalum which is just absolutely crazy and asinine

When Singapore celebrated their big anniversary a few years ago, PP did something similar and created some enamel dome clocks that were intended only for Singaporean collectors. SJX reported that was a decision made by TS. I think it is a stroke of market... 

We can only hope that PP will do for rest of the world (by the way Romania is not small for PP, it not on the map) a new edition and we can get something not LE. I hope to be black.

...even I don't care for the NYC skyline. It means nothing to me to see it on this World Timer or any watch for that matter. Perhaps they should spend more time and effort on more variations of the guilloche dial like the 5110P or some variations on ename... 

I did make contact prior to embargo being lifted and both told me they would only sell to known customers with Sheridan addresses. No different to how many of us would feel iff our AD sold LE's to unknowns or foreigners!!! However I think the allocation p...

Of course, I also liked the pilot watch when it was launched, and most here did not, so what do I know? But I do live in the US, so that is a good start ;-)

600 for US only is not ultra rare but a good marketing move I think. Patek recognizes the importance of the US market and trying to go big with the Grand Exhibition and the release of this pilot watch. It is a good way to attract a new generation of buyer... 

And we all know that too many is the beginning of the end... Oh, and if I want a Pilot watch...I don't think Patek honestly.

A nice watch and I'm sure it will sell out like hot cakes. There are a lot of comments on pricing but to be honest I think it's fairly reasonable (exclaimed: for PP)? A SS Calatrava style Pilot's watch is pretty new, and MSRP is closer to 5167 than 5711 w...

I like the aviator, but not enough to relocate to NYC to be eligible for one. For the WT/MRs, I'd relocate to Dante's Inferno, if necessary. Thankfully my family need not worry about that as the price point is too high anyway....

Well Julian, I see no reason why they had to make this for the US only. All the other watches they made for that exhibition are EXISTING watches with something that refers to the US or New York to be more precise. The enamel dials, the WT, the pocket watc... 

... but besides the distribution philosophy behind this watch, are the Patek aficionados really satisfied with the dial balance? To my (Patek- wise uneducated) eyes the minute hand is too short and the lollipop seconds hand simply looks out of correct dim...
