It’s quite small for me in terms of my collection. But it’s making me contemplate the virtues of small cases. I like the way it looks. And it’s quite comfortable.

Yes, a hobnail bezel. Most recently Patek is using it on the new 6119 Calatrava.

I hope there was cake, if not the watch will have to suffice. This is a quadruple whammy I think; first the dial and the dial layout, then the hobnail stepped bezel, then the officers caseback and finally (at least these days) the smaller case. The first ... 

No cake, yet anyway. It was whammy #3 that decided this was the piece I wanted. I was hesitant about the size since the deal was done online and by phone. However, I now realize that size doesn’t matter. (😉) No! I mean there’s room for going smaller than ...

I did switch loyalties several years ago. I’m limiting myself to independents these days. I haven’t cared for the way some of the conglomerates operate now.
