If possible, I would appreciate if you walk through how the actual attack transpired.
Were you at a well lit restaurant, wearing short sleeves?
Were you walking around a well lit area?
And then you happened to walk down a street that had no people, lights or cameras?
You noticed him following you, which kept your senses up but thought you would have time?
Did he finally sneak up on you?
You clearly had some sensing because you knew could and should grab your watch?
You were wearing short sleeve at the time of the attack?
I am less interested in the city but more interested in it how you think it happened.

I’m not familiar with the recent EU laws, but back in the times I lived there a”business carry”, was possible to obtain.
You are right about not getting in to a gunfight when nailed to one’s head, but if possible as in this case where it was obvious that he was followed, I would definitely empty a full magazine! But that’s just the old soldier in me…

he took the very first chance when we reached a not so well lit area without cameras and people, presumably after like 20 minutes as far as we can recall
did not notice him following us at all, he suddenly came from behind touching my arm/wrist - and I immediately realized what was going on. restaurant was regular lit, long sleeve but the watch is too big to stay there all the time
