Thanks Yacomino, the intersection between fine art and fine horology is precisely what attracted me to these Pateks in the first place! Hope you can one day see this piece in the metal, as the experience is even more remarkable! :-) Cheers.

Dear Friends, let me kick off the new year on our forum by having some fun -- here's for you a collage that I have created of my favorite watch on this planet, Patek "Boccadasse" 5177G-010...and the ONLY TWO specimens I have ever seen of it! The one on th...

I would say the waves are the most obvious to me in this picture. Have a great weekend. Ps in different light i dont see your waves from your old pictures.

Thanks a lot Bill -- even in person the sea waves are indeed one of the most spectacular parts! The technique there is "grand feu", whose effects are quite stunning :-)

I used the first picture below in the collage for Michael Ng's dial (on the left), while from the next picture (also from him) the waves are definitely more visible. Another impressive feature of these dials is indeed how they totally change depending on ...

Fun game and lovely comparison !

If each wave is considered a little bit different, then I just found more than 100 !

Great to see this comparison and the small differences between versions!

And I love the waves under the flinque enamel!

Stunning!

I originally thought the dial was entirely cloisonne enamel, very impressive that multiple techniques are used!

😉🥂

Yep, Boccadasse is a wonderful, tiny neighborhood of my hometown of Genova, located right on the sea. I just found out it even has its own English wikipedia page:

This is precisely where you can find me three to four nights a week, May through August of every (non-pandemic) year...the location is amazing for a night out chatting with friends, plus they make the very best Negroski! ;-)) Next time you come to the are...

Such a spectacular piece of art! Both units are amazing yet by looking at it we can spot several differences which make each one unique!

I must admit in general I am not drawn to these types of watches but this one is something else! This is true art merged with horology- quite special

Two incredible miniature works of art. From my point of view as much as I love 5131/5231, the hand painted enamel watches you post are masterpieces at a

significantly higher level of artistry. Just amazing. Yes, there are delightful differences between the two scenes for sure. These differences only add to the allure of each individual watch. Hopefully some day ....

Thank you for the compliment! And yes, maybe one day .... On a separate note, it is very interesting to me how Patek miniature enamels

I didn't notice much else, but the water waves and gradient on the rocks/buildings/hill/clouds seem to be higher contrast on the version on the right.

Now you are pulling my leg lol
