Thanks a lot Bill -- even in person the sea waves are indeed one of the most spectacular parts! The technique there is "grand feu", whose effects are quite stunning :-)

Two incredible miniature works of art. From my point of view as much as I love 5131/5231, the hand painted enamel watches you post are masterpieces at a
significantly higher level of artistry. Just amazing. Yes, there are delightful differences between the two scenes for sure. These differences only add to the allure of each individual watch. Hopefully some day ....
Thanks for the kind words, Patekova. In agreement re a difference between the 5x31 series (which I also love and own, with the 5131P) and these...both great artworks, but their complexity (and consequent rarity) obviously place them on different levels..

Water waves...
I didn't notice much else, but the water waves and gradient on the rocks/buildings/hill/clouds seem to be higher contrast on the version on the right.
Thanks my friend, the hobnail pattern on the bezel has indeed been welcomed by many collectors...it’s a new feature that so far is a peculiarity of the recent 5177G reference (vs. e.g. the 5089G)👍
