Is the 5110 a legible watch? Certainly not.
Is is catastrophic? No, I don't think so.
Do we buy this kind of work of Art to be legible? Not me, at least. It is a long time I stopped considering legibillity as a most imprtant criteria for me, as I prefer to admire the time than to read it.
I have much cheaper tools to read the time, like my cell phone. 
But I can understand it is a main issue for some of us.

A bracelet in platinum will cost you an arm. Ask to your AD if it is possible.
I would suggest you to put your 5110 on a Nato strap. The outcome is surprising, and it will cost you almost nothing! Best, Nicolas.
