Like you, I like the less cluttered registers of the 5270 at 3 and 9 o’clock. And like you I think that the absence of tachymeter scale suits this dial well.
However, even if I know how iconic this combination of complications is, I wonder if I don’t prefer these two complications (chronograph and perpetual calendar) to be featured separately. I’m very happy with my Cornes de Vache, which is “only” a chronograph and I think I would be more than happy (it’s an understatement) with a 3448, which is “only” a perpetual calendar.
That said, the 5270 is a watch which suits my wrist well and, having not been able yet to try on a 5970, my taste might evolve in the future.
In the meantime, the 5098P is all I need and no other watch could make me happier.
