For many years at least through the 1990s, vintage form watches, especially rectangles, were viewed as more desirable (and valuable!) than round watches, at least in time only watches. But that is no longer the case. The 5135 was revolutionary - a jumbo 50mm rounded rectangular ("tonneau") case with the highly desired annual calendar function. It caused quite a stir and for a while was a highly sought after timepiece. But that didn't last long. Not many people seem to care much about it (and I say that as someone with a contrary view and as the happy owner of this watch). Also I love 1940s/1950s rectangles with the 9-90 movements. Again I definitely am in the minority on this. Even square time only vintage watches were once highly desired - not any more. For me, round is great, but I equally like form watches, particularly rectangles.
