I bought my first 5110J back in 2006 and I absolutely loved it.

I had three Pateks by 2017 (5110J, 5135R, 5960P) but I sold all three, to fund my freshly started business venture. (No regrets, it was a great decision)

Business was doing great and I was fortunate to buy the 3 PPs back (5135R was replaced with 5135P) between 2022/23.....so I bought the 5110J for the second time.

Had a great opportunity to buy 2nd Gen F.P Journe Rèsonance last year for a steal of a price, so something had to be sacrificed... I sold the 5110J for the second time to raise the funds for the RÉSONANCE. Missed it, but I knew I could replace it later....and FPJ RN was just too good of a deal to miss on.

Today was a great day. Found another beautiful 5110J and hope to have it in my hands by Friday.

Firts image is showing the newest member of the family. The rest of the pictures are showing my first one from 2006.

As they say, *third time is a charm*.... this one is going to stay for a long... loooooong time 👍🥂 Absolutely LOVE the vintage vibes of this reference....especially in the traditional yellow gold. .

Next on the search radar:

- a vintage Ellipse in yellow gold and blue dial, with a simple removable caseback for my special project. (Most likely 3605, 3848/8 or 3546)

About the Patek Philippe Ref. 3546

The Patek Philippe reference 3546 is a vintage automatic dress watch, notable for its integrated bracelet design and cushion-shaped case. Introduced in the late 1960s, it represents a period of design evolution for the brand, moving towards more contemporary forms while retaining traditional watchmaking values. This reference offered a distinct aesthetic compared to Patek Philippe's more common round-cased models of the era, appealing to collectors seeking a less conventional vintage Patek Philippe. It was part of a series of references exploring different case shapes and bracelet integrations.

The 3546 typically features a solid gold case, often in yellow or white gold, with a diameter of approximately 33mm. The watch is powered by an automatic movement, likely the Caliber 28-255, known for its slim profile and reliability. This movement would have provided a power reserve suitable for daily wear. The crystal would have been acrylic, common for watches of its production period, protecting a dial that often featured a clean, minimalist design with simple hour markers.

This reference appeals to collectors interested in Patek Philippe's mid-century design language and those who appreciate integrated bracelet designs from this era. Its cushion case shape offers a unique wrist presence compared to the more prevalent round or rectangular vintage Patek Philippe watches. While not as widely recognized as some of the brand's more complicated references, the 3546 holds a place for its distinctive design and solid mechanical foundation, representing a particular aesthetic chapter in Patek Philippe's history.
