No problem. I’m just trying to be honest.

We can’t like them all otherwise our lives would be even more tormented than they already are.
I just really don’t get all the fuss and obsession with this watch. My only rational explanation is that they are limited in their supply. I know for a fact that if these were available in every Patek outlet and every showroom window it is my firm belief that we wouldn’t be having this conversation. It’s not a bad watch if you like very uncomplicated plain Watches but that is it. Great and worthy of all the airtime it gets!??? Come on there are far more worthy candidates for this.

Would you wear the 5711/1A or the 5712/1A? Thanks...Jim

Thank you

The 5711 is Sooooo clean...Jim

for years...

 By: thomaspp : April 25th, 2018-14:16
I always said 5711, but in the last year for some reason I have changed my mind and now very much adore the quirkiness of the 5712.

As we get older :-)

Agree

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : April 25th, 2018-15:36
I already have a 5712G on a blue strap (thank you Brandon) and agree it is a very asymmetrical dial, however there is a huge difference in red gold and a brown face compared to the 5711/1A. Thanks for the input...Jim

5712R you mean :) [nt]

 By: Brandon Skinner : April 25th, 2018-21:24

Yes the 5712G [nt]

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : April 28th, 2018-10:34

Don’t agree on the offsets, but

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : April 25th, 2018-15:38
I appreciate your input, again with RG and the brown dial it looks much different...Jim

5712 w/ no second thoughts!

 By: Brandon Skinner : April 25th, 2018-15:27
not to mention the backside is more interesting

Thanks Brandon! [nt]

In the world where $ is not a concern, I am an octopus, apparently.

The 5711 is iconic and a perfect watch...Jim

5711. It was a choice I had and I chose the 5711.

 By: Jay (Eire) : April 25th, 2018-19:13
I had previously made a "mistake" with AP, choosing the Royal Oak Chrono over the 15202. In time I regretted not making not making the choice of the classic, more true to the original iconic design, uncomplicated piece. The same I feel is true with the 57...

Thank you Jay

I tend to think how you do, the classic will always be the most desired. The 5712 is better in rose gold with a brown or blue (what I have) strap...Jim

5712/1A for sure

 By: sham1 : April 25th, 2018-19:55
I much prefer the 240 mini rotor and the complications on the 5712 compared to the 324 rotor and spartan dial of the 5711. My wrist is quite small and a spartan dial on a 40mm watch would make the watch look even larger.

I like the 240

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : April 28th, 2018-08:30
Movement better also and I love the complications. Thanks for sharing...Jim

Now both are about trading at the same price (based on my observations, I am based in South East Asia)

I chose 5711, my daily wear. I love the simplicity of the dial (blue dial of course).

Pretty evenly split

Between both on this thread. Thank you everyone...Jim

Never to late GLau

Hi M, IMO, 5711/1A is an iconic classic that is still timeless at this point with a reasonable entry price for a Patek. Hence with the ...

“limited” supply, the demand is high vs production, resulting in “madness”.

Thank you Gordon. That must be it.

 By: Miles_151 : April 30th, 2018-23:32
As I said we can’t like them all but I am glad to see the joy this model brings its owners. That can only be a good thing as we need as much of that as we can get in this mad world. M.

Neither.

I Will never put a Nautilus on my wrist I’m not going to say they are not proper sports watches but I will say they are not my preferred sports watch. M.

I needed to buy one...a 5711A....to see if i could understand it....

My wife said it looked boring. After wearing it, I was very underwhelmed. Found it bland.

5711!

 By: mustafadurrani : April 28th, 2018-11:13
Bought mine in 2014 and cherish it. Having said that, no way in hell I would buy it at the current trading price. Best Regards, Mustafa

5980 only ,lol

By: Mohannad (aka Riddler) : April 28th, 2018-12:44
Of the two I would hands down choose the 5712 more romantic

5712
