How many pieces of this sought after watch were produced? I was offered a 3940R London edition a fortnight ago and the dial was quite unappealing compared to your salmon dial. Thanks Miles.

The 5970 is on my list as the best watch Patek has made in modern times - that is, the last 30 years. The combination you have is simply breathtaking and indeed very rare. Big congratulations! Cheers!

Miles - many many congratulations this is wonderful. I chased one hard, and my research was 5 pieces - but 3, 5 or 50 it frankly doesn\'t matter, it is such a beautiful thing. As for the dial, I have the London 3940 salmon/rose and they look very similar.... 

If you are referring to the one at David Duggan's, it did look remarkably similar to yours but I must confess, I only had a quick glance

Like i said u got a beautiful watch there and if they told u it is 3 then all the better haha. I can tell u i have seen 1 in the flesh, yours on this forum so we are on the lookout for mystery man/woman number 3 haha. Again, I can\'t get enough of the gre... 

But I don\'t know about you but it is very difficult to get a picture which replicates the Salmon colour. Look forward to seeing yours. M

We like reading about what watches bring to their owners and this is a great story to live with you. About your question, I read at the time it was 5 pieces but as Patek didn't want to communicate about them, it was really hard to get reliable information...

........truly wonderful piece, my first Patek in 1996 was a salmon dial 5000R, a little lower in the food chain that this epic piece admittedly - Patek does salmon so well.
