And really loved it.
If you do, and have the opportunity, then one must not deny the callings of their heart
Likely this is a model that will slowly come to grow on people, though I appreciate the diamonds make the otherwise subtle P a little less so, and for some that is a negative.
Generally I do not like anything adorned with diamonds - a friend’s diamond encrusted Hublot holds absolutely no appeal for me whatsoever - though my (all too brief, unfortunately) experience of the 5170P showed that the hour markets are indeed less noticeable than one might imagine, and I found that it worked very well. Look is nice. Weight is nice and substantial. I liked it!
Value? A taboo topic... well considering there are a number of 5170P’s available at approx half the price of 5070G, let alone a 5070P, that tells you all you need to know about current demand. Perhaps this will change in the future, but if I had the spare weight available in my wallet, I wouldn’t consider it “bad value”. However, there are many very interesting pieces from different brands and independents at this range...so...if you love it, then go for it!
All the best,
Niall
