I think I’m coming from a place in which I assume that’s given. That’s, perhaps, an error on my part, but I bet many would agree that respect and decorum should absolutely be a part of sharing one’s opinion. That’s one thing. Asking people to basically not have or share opinions because of an assumption that other people are 1. incapable of deciphering fact from opinion, and/or 2. too fragile to hear it is quite a different thing.
The informed, passionate dialogue here is what separates this from instagram. When you have a bunch of passionate collectors together there will always be differences of opinion, and that, to me, is great as long as respect and decorum are maintained. I do not feel that direct, honest opinions and respect/decorum are mutually exclusive. We see hundreds of examples of this very thing taking place on this site on a daily basis, and, to my perception, much more often than rude, inconsiderate comments/behavior.
