.....i am not a fan of cutaway dials. I have none...other than this one. And, for this one, it is a major factor behind why i like it...the incongruity lets me get past the cutaway and it turns into an advantage rather than a problem.

......i think rarity is one of those things that I have never been shy of stating is a factor for me. It adds a certain something..... having said that, rarity in itself is not a decider. It is a necessary but not sufficient factor.

......we also evolve thinking over time. I know a really great collector from Munich who told me that just about every collector goes through a 5yr cycle and then a 10yr cycle Somewhere between 10-15 years, they become more fixed!!

Are you sized and in business? Though I had never sized / cut an Aquanaut, I performed the minor surgery on my own. All went well...though I did have my AD secure a second rubber strap for me 😉
I'm not sure if others agree, but based on my single example, I recommend cutting strap length a "notch" one too few on both sides. Gives you the flexibility to micro-adjust size or wrist position after some time on the wrist, hot / cold expansion / contr...
