The two lions are breathtaking... and I'm always in awe whenever I see that two "identical" pieces are in fact so unique!! The information you provided is also valuable --- these are all details that are extremely interesting to know, but hard to find any...

Both the Lion motif and 5131 maps IMO are difficult to produce, and I agree that the Lion is even more difficult especially with the 3D effects of the leaves below the Lion. If the Master enameller Ms. Porchet admitted that it was challenging, I cannot im... 

I am absolutely blown away by your watch and have really enjoyed your previous posts about it. I never gave much thought to cloisonné before but you changed that whith “the dream”. Thank you for bringing more interesting details about this amazing watch. ... 

The photos really can only reveal a bit of how unique the dial really is. This Lion is one that you need to see it in the metal and go on a safari with so that you would be in "The Dream" ! LOL ! Cheers, Gordon

Gordon, thank you for sharing re: the enamelling techniques. Good to know that Anita is involved when the enamelling process of the dial is executed. Of course it would be better that "A Porchet" is engraved, but AP for me is sufficient enough. I also not... 

...the Master Enameler was involved previously in earlier pieces for various brands but did not leave her mark. As she became more famous, she evolved into a brand in her own right and brands want to show her involvement and she wanted to show her initial... 

Thank you for all this information. It gives me renewed interest in these art pieces. Your is the second closeup, based on a comparison of you previous posts. How many Rousseau Lion's were made?

They didn't release official figures on this 5089 as far as I know, but it's almost certainly a number between 3 and 10. (10 was the official number for each of the 5089 dials they made for the NYC exhibition, and it was considered quite high!) So in Gord... 

6 pieces (within your range of 3 to 10) for each of the four animals. Hence, my GTG covered 33.333% of the Rousseau Lions in the wild ! Cheers, Gordon

my Lion is the one in the second closeup. Overall, 6 Lions were made and 6 for each of the other animals. Hence, a total of 24 pieces for the Rousseau series with each one being "unique", just like the 5131s ! Cheers, Gordon

It's just such a rare art that I'd be happy to own any piece. Most important is to find a piece with a motif that you love. Rousseau's lion is definitely a universally likable one! One day, this art will likely become extinct! Suzanne Rohr and Anita Porch...

Did I got it right from your post that price is different if AP or A Porchet is written on "lion PP" if so for me that's sort of price point and value for money implied directly by PP Cheers D

only the AP signature. Other more complicated enamel pieces that combine numerous enamel techniques (combination of cloisonné, champleve, griselle, miniature painting and others) are done by Anita Porchet herself and as such cost more. Cheers, Gordon
