Hi everyone,
I have gained a new found interest in the vintage Patek's that have a distinctive feature of a central seconds hand.
So far i have come across models with the Ref. 2533, Ref. 2508 and Ref. 570. I notice that most of these models from the 50's and 60's have a diameter of 34~35mm, and some of the sites that are selling them claim that it is not water resistant, while some says it is. Could you all enlighten me on several points?
1. Are these the only models that have a central seconds hand AND is hand wound? If there are others, is it possible to give me a more complete list, if not an exhaustive one?
2. They all contain the Cal. 27-SC?
3. Water resistant, yes or not?
4. Difference in the references, are they only aesthetic wise? I seem to see some with the baton hour markers, and some with dots, but specifically what makes them differ from each other?
5. Any of them have a stop-seconds (hacking) feature?
6. Are all references available in Stainless steel? I know these are the raries of the patek world, and i am very keen on acquiring one.
I hope to discover so much more into this fascinating world with all of you!
Any details rendered to me is much appreciated!
Best
Stephen
