5296R..

I fell in love with the sector dialled 5296R when I saw a large promotional display at a patek AD.  Unfortunately they didn't have one in stock so I settled for trying on the 5396R to get a  feel for the style and then tracked one down online.

I like the watch and have been wearing mine several days a week for nearly three years with casual and business dress without any problems.  I have not picked up any scratches from daily wear and a quick gentle rub with a jewellers cloth gets it looking like new again.

I would comment that the case has a very flat design with very little curve of the lugs so the modest diameter at 38mm makes the watch seem larger.  It's one of the only watches I own that gets compliments by non-watch strangers to whom the brand means nothing.  The blued hands are just sublime and the cold enamel printing on the dial looks wet and freshly printed under some light.  The flat bezel reflects light and creates a sparkle without being flashy like the Datejust II

I find it looks equally at home with jeans and a shirt or tucked under a double cuff with a suit.

Cons?  Date window is too small / dates printed too close together.  No relief or depth to the dial.

Between the 5127 and the non-sector 5296 I would choose the 5127 every time as I feel the proportions work better and the minute hand is the correct length.  The 5296 non-sector minute hand falls just short of  the marker I believe.

A quick google image search for 5296R will bring up a few wristshots and there's a few on here too.
