First of all it is great that there is a new watch from PP that is polarizing. It doesn´t happen that often, does it?
Dial view :
To me it shows some of the most beautiful details which have been shown from PP in the past. For example the asymmetric layout has been shown in most of their observatory watches. Sorry, I don´t have pictures on my HD, but they are shown in most of the PP books and for sure you can find them in the WWW.Some claimed it looks more like an IWC. Well, both are regulators (surprise, surprise), both show white metal and blue details. That´s it, for me. Not to mention SINN, Chronoswiss, Union …
pgSomething else comes to my mind, but not because of the layout. More because of the “intellectual” approach …
pgCase view :
White metal is the perfect color for such a watch and to start with WG makes sense to me.
pgThe matt finish is one more sophisticated and understated detail, which I like a lot. It helps to cover the size: 40.5mm; 11mm (By the way: simple RL 40.5mm; 10.5mm )
As I wrote before, the watch has to be seen on my wrist for a final judgment – hopefully soon. I was told one gentleman (in my market) already placed his order immediately, after getting the latest PP magazine. Lucky him, he will get his watch already in 2011.
Movement view :
The bigger size is perfect for the case and the first impression looks very good and I like the shapes of the bridges. Technically I find it interesting. It is not up to me to judge about the new features, but I would like to check them out.
pgWould love to compare them side by side …
Summary :
It is a very interesting watch, which speaks to me very loud. It looks (from the pictures) wearable 24/7 and works for business and casual. The annual calendar is not necessary for me, but adds some spice and is useful. The price tag is reasonable for such a watch from PP and I like the idea that even not only super wealthy collectors can go for it – after some saving.
Just my 2,5 cent.
